Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau as a graphic-design movement runs from roughly 1890 to 1910. Privat-Livemont, Henri Meunier, Mucha, Chéret, and Steinlen designed for the same Brussels and Paris print shops that produced coffee advertising in the era. Our Art Nouveau coffee pieces are the purest examples of the movement intersecting with the bean.

An independent visual archive of coffee, 1700–1925. We work through Wellcome, Gallica, the Rijksmuseum, Museu Paulista, the Library of Congress, and the institutional collections where the printed record of coffee survives. We restore what we find. Nothing is designed, nothing is faked.
